As of today, the site search still isn't searching the Progress index pages. You can use your browser's Find function to search for a name within a page, but that's more tedious, and also gives false hits when your name is also buried in other names, e.g. Huber in Hubert, Schubert, etc.

Also, I kinda miss the old format for the lists for readability.

But, minor quibbles aside, the new Progress index isa wonderful tool, and will generate plenty of business for the microfilm copiers at the O'Fallon Public Library from me alone.

Kudos and thanks to all involved!

Is there a way to search the entire index for surnames? I tried a site-specific search in Google; it retuned NO hits for surnames I can see in the Index. hmmm . . . maybe the site isn't old enough to have been spidered yet?

Anyway, my thought is this. Some brides apprear to be listed only under the groom's listing. Sooooo, if I could search A-Z all at once, I might find a bride that's only listed under her groom?

Don't get me wrong, it's a great index. I'm jusdt trying to find the smart way to use it.

Larry

The index was posted yesterday--Sun Jan 13. Once it's spidered, searching via Google should work.

I am looking forward to the development of your web page. You folks have been very helpful in my searching for information about my HEMMEN and GASTON ancestors.

The new site is very handsome. I look forward to the arrival of new content (e.g. the full O'Fallon Progress index, hint, hint!)

Best wishes,
Chuck Huber
